results (preliminary rounds) - BW (June 1st)
Dear all,
Welcome back to the new look Junior-League Baden-Württemberg. We're
24 teams this year, ranging from Lahr to Ulm and Nürtingen to Gaggenau.
Let us welcome the new schools in this year's JL - Hölderlin Nürtingen,
Johannes-Kepler Leonberg, Taus Backnang and Hölderlin Stuttgart.
A warm welcome to them and the best of luck.
The groups are arranged differently this year to how they were in the
past. They are now not wholly geographical, but are also arranged on the
performance of the school JL teams over the last two years. This gives
the schools who have not done so well in recent years a chance to practice
and improve and the heavyweight schools to fight it out amongst themselves.
But never fear! All the groups have an equal chance of qualifying into
the quarter-finals. We cannot as yet tell you where they or the finals
will be, but we let you know as soon as we ourselves know!
We are coupled with the Senior League for some of the dates in the coming
year and the finals will be together with Senior Leagues. This has been
done to reduce the number of debating days both for students and for teachers,
as we all know how hectic things can get!
As with SL, there will also be no participation
fee for JL this year for those schools and coaches who are members of
the Debating Society Germany e.V.
Schools not as yet members are required
to invoice 20 Euros.
The accounts of Debating Society Germany to which you should pay are LBBW
(Sort Code 600 501 01), A/C no. 820 46 64 or Deutsche Bank (Sort
Code 600 700 24), A/C no. 132 02 90. Transfer reference: Please say from
which school the payment comes, as it is not always easily to piece things
together! If you should need a receipt for your school, please tell our
treasurer Tanja Ferraro-Wolf.
Well that's it from us for the moment. Best of luck in the debates!
