Junior League 2012/13

    28 APR 2013

International School Frankfurt wins Junior League 2012/13

In an amazing Grand final, the Junior League debating team from the International School Frankfurt, participating for the first time ever, has won the competition by a split decision 6:1 on the motion "THBT same-sex couples should be allowed to adopt children" over the team from Königin-Olga-Stift Stuttgart on 28th April. Congratulations! The Grand Final completed this year's JL finals' tournament at the Würzburg Youth Hostel, during which six teams from the Stuttgart area, Frankfurt and Berlin have met to debate against each other in five rounds. The best two teams then met again in one final debate. Congratulations also go to this year's runner-up team from Königin-Olga-Stift Stuttgart.

For those schools who want to assemble a second delegation, the
    following conditions apply:

    - A second judge must accompany delegations with two teams.
    - The B-teams will debate in friendly rounds parallel to the A-team debates.
    - One judge will judge the B-team debates and provide feedback, more
    judges if available.
    - B-teams don't have to attend all round days continuously, for instance
if a school can't have two judges accompanying them.
    - B-team debate results will be recorded for the sake of an honourable
mention at the end of the preliminaries or small prize.
    - There won't be a draw made for the B-teams, debates will materialise
on site depending on how many and which teams show up. However, in order
to be able to tell whether B-teams will face an opponent, we'll need to
make sure that every school that intends to send a 'B-team' lets us know
    of their arrival in advance.
    - It will be allowed to swap speakers through A- and B-teams. Whether or
not we have B-teams won't change the number of speakers available to
    each school.

Please visit this page for infos and updates, such as date changes, draw and motions, as well as venue locations.

    Looking forward to seeing you!

    Best regards,
