Dear coaches and friends of debating

As Christopher has already told you, Franziska Mohr and I have taken over the active adminsitration of Senior League. First of all, I would like to thank Christopher Sloan for putting so much time and effort into organising Senior League in the last 10 years. I think you will all agree when I say that due to his personal commitment, his English humour and his perseverance Senior League events were always highlights for coaches and debaters alike. I am delighted that, if necessary,  he will give us a helping hand in the future.

 

Our apologies for not sending this out at the end of last school year. We were extremely busy organising WSDC 2016 and making sure that everything ran smoothly. After all the teams had departed, we were pretty exhausted and needed a long holiday. Now everybody is back home, and we are in time to greet you at the beginning of the new school year.  
Many thanks to all those who contributed so much to SL 2015 –16; and congratulations to the two teams who battled through into the final, Parler Gymnasium (the eventual winners) and International School Frankfurt. An especial thank-you to our hosts on Finals Day, Heidehof Gymnasium Stuttgart, who looked after us with generous hospitality.
 
We have finalised the dates for our Senior League rounds, and have incorporated the suggestion made at Würzburg two years ago that we should have Rds 1 - 4 on a Friday and a Saturday rather than on two Saturdays.

Registration for Senior League 2016/2017 will start on WED, 14 September 2016 and end on SUN, 9 October 2016. The registration fee for Senior League 2016/2017 will be € 30.

 

We will publish the motion for the first prepared round about 4 weeks prior to the debate. 

On the subject of WSDC 2017, which will take place in Bali, we do encourage any good debaters you may have to apply for the national squad. Laura Alviz will keep you informed about how debaters will have to apply and when the selection process will take place.
